Tindle Dulcimer Picks

Choosing picks is kinda like shopping for toothpaste....there are tons of options, and it has a lot to do with personal taste. After many requests for my recommendations, I've assembled these favorites here as my "picks" for mountain dulcimer playing.

Delrin - These "Tindle" branded picks are made from the same material as several popular brands. Delrin picks are a great choice if you prefer a bit brighter sound (as many folks do). They come in 2 sizes (standard and large) and are available in 3 of the most widely used thicknesses (stiffness).

Nylon - These "Jim Dunlop" brand picks are available here in my 2 favorite thicknesses (stiffness). Made from a softer Nylon material, they can create a bit purer tone with less pick noise, but are perhaps too "mellow" sounding for some folks. It just depends upon the sound style you are after.

Pick Grip Pads - As I have aged, I find my grip is not what it used to be! These things are amazing! They self-adhere to any pick you like and provide a soft, textured surface that aids a great deal in keeping your grip on your pick.

The PickPack - This sample pack includes 1 each of 8 different pick types, as well as 8 Pick Grip Pads. The PickPack provides a great way to find that pick that is just right for you!

So go ahead, get picky!
